Back-to-BOLD Event
Back-to-BOLD Event offers Free Backpacks with School Supplies
Thanks to the generosity of churches, businesses, organizations, and community members, we are grateful to be able to share free backpacks filled with school supplies to begin the 2026-27 school year!
This year’s Back-to-BOLD event will be at Apalachee High School from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and will include, while supplies last:
- Free backpack filled with school supplies from community partners in education
- Piedmont Regional Library System Mobile Library and free PINES public library cards
- Barrow Literacy Partnership with free books for children ages 4 and under
- Immunizations by the Health Department
- School Bus Tour & Answers to School Transportation Questions
- School Nutrition Information with Free and Reduced Application Assistance
- Mental Health Resources, including access to free online sessions with counselors

Please note the following details:
- All services and backpacks are while supplies last.
- Students do not need to be present to receive a backpack.
- Limit of up to 4 backpacks per Barrow County household.
- Everyone will be screened through the weapons detection system.
- Only park in legal spaces on the campuses of AHS, HMMS, and YES.
Want to support the Back-to-BOLD event? Donations can be dropped off at Apalachee High School on the following dates & times:
- Thursday, July 16 from 1 pm – 6 pm
- Monday, July 20 from 8 am – 1 pm
