The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl (HRRB) is a Georgia-based quiz-style competition for students in grades 4-12 designed to encourage students to read! Elementary and middle school students read and are quizzed on the 20 Georgia Book Award Nominees, while high school students read and are quizzed on the 20 Georgia Peach Teen Book Award Nominees. The books change yearly.

Individual schools will set up their own Reading Bowl Teams, who will then compete in a competitive game format known as the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl.
