The Barrow County School System is pleased to announce Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (BASA) Assistant Principal Dr. Suzy Wallin will also step into the role of Interim Athletic Director, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. 

Dr. Wallin has 28 years of experience in education, all of which have been dedicated to serving students in Barrow County. 

Her passion for student success, commitment to building strong relationships, and exceptional organizational and motivational skills will help ensure continued consistency and growth within BASA’s athletics program and extracurricular offerings. 

“Athletics has always been a part of who I am, shaped by early lessons of hard work and sacrifice learned in the field house alongside my father, a high school football coach and athletic director. As Vince Lombardi said, success requires a willingness to ‘pay the price,’ and I have carried that mindset throughout my 28 years in Barrow County Schools and 18 years of athletic leadership as a middle school athletic director. I am grateful for this opportunity and committed to putting in the work every day to serve our students, coaches, and community with purpose and care. Let’s go, Blazers!”
