Special Education Coordinator, PREP Program (Special Needs Preschool)

I serve as the Preschool Readiness Education Program (PREP) Coordinator for BCSS. The PREP program provides specialized instruction for preschool age students (ages 3-5) with identified disabilities. Eligibility for this program is determined through the completion of a comprehensive developmental evaluation and is based upon state of Georgia guidelines. Students are referred from a variety of sources including Babies Can’t Wait, parent referral, daycare referral, etc.

The PREP program currently is composed of 7 classes in 5 elementary schools (Auburn Elementary, Austin Road Elementary, Bethlehem Elementary, Statham Elementary and Winder Elementary). Services are provided half-day, 4 days per week (Monday – Thursday). In addition to classroom services, students may be eligible to receive speech-language services, physical therapy services and occupational therapy services. Transportation services are also available.

If you have concerns about your child’s development, please contact me at 770-867-4527.
