The Georgia School Boards Association has named the Barrow County Board of Education a Distinguished School Board. 

This designation recognizes governance teams that demonstrate a strong commitment to effective governance, transparency, collaboration, strategic leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

"Earning the Distinguished Board Award is a tremendous recognition of our Board of Education’s commitment to effective governance and, ultimately, to the students and families we serve. We are fortunate to have a Board of Education that understands strong governance requires collaboration, accountability, and a shared focus on student success. This recognition is a reflection of their commitment to leading our school system with integrity, vision, and a clear focus on student achievement," said BCSS Superintendent Dr. Dallas LeDuff. 

To earn the Distinguished Governance Team Recognition, the BCSS governance team successfully met criteria established by GSBA that reflect strong governance practices and a continued commitment to district-wide success.
