There are more and more businesses opening that require people with skills that can be learned in this class. This includes television, film and even radio. Students can find which area they like best, whether that is in front or behind the camera, editing, or behind a microphone. Graphic Communication is the process of communicating visually using typography and/or images to convey information. Graphic Design embraces a range of cognitive skills, create problem solving skills, aesthetics, and crafts, including typography, visual arts, illustration, photography, and page layout.

Course 1—Introduction to Graphics & Design - 48.56100
This is the foundational course for the Graphics Design pathway. It teaches students the processes involved in the technologies of printing, publishing, packaging, and electronic imaging. Students will also demonstrate using typography, visual arts, and page layout, You will explore: Employability Skills, Careers, Computer Software, Aesthetics, Imaging, Layout and Design, and Varying Print Processes.
Course 2—Graphics Design & Production - 48.56200
This course focuses on the procedures commonly used in the graphic communication and design industries. Students will gain experience in creative problem-solving and the practical implementation of those solutions across multiple areas of graphic communications. You will explore: Color, Elements and Principles, Output processes, Field experience, Typography, File Management, Equipment Operation, Finishing Methods, and Customer Service and Sales Principles
Course 3—Advanced Graphic Output Processes - 48.57000
The final course in the pathway, students will gain advanced levels of experience to complete the output processes of various projects. Students will be able to manage the entire completion process from customer service to printing to finishing. Knowledge and skills in design and printing will be enhanced through experiences that simulate the graphic communications industry and school-based and work-based learning opportunities. You will explore: Project Production, Developing a Portfolio, Layout and Design, Employability Skills, Production Costs, Output Devices.
