Dr. Kristie Knopp is a dedicated Special Education Teacher and Behavior Support Coordinator with over 22 years of experience in educational settings. After beginning her career in Palm Beach County Schools in South Florida, Dr. Knopp joined Barrow County in 2008, where she has passionately advocated for students' needs and supported educators in managing challenging behaviors.
For the past eight years, she has excelled at the district level, providing guidance and support to administrators, teachers, and students through effective behavior management strategies. Dr. Knopp specializes in coaching individuals on responding to behavioral crises using preventative and de-escalation techniques rooted in Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS).
Her commitment to creating a positive school climate is evident through her focus on PBIS, Mindset Preventative Strategies, Social Emotional Learning, Behavior Management, and Behavior Modification. Dr. Knopp believes that by fostering a safe and supportive environment, both students and teachers can thrive.
