In partnership with the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce, the Barrow County School System invited community members to shadow our school leaders as the “Principal for a Day.” Principal for a Day provides business leaders with a firsthand, authentic look at the operations of our schools and the administrators who lead them. The leaders from both worlds get to know one another and come to better understand the similarities and challenges associated with their jobs.

Guest principals participate in a variety of everyday activities with the school principal. They welcome students in car rider lines, visit classrooms, attend school leadership team meetings, read stories, tour the school, and enjoy lunch in the cafeteria with students. It’s an eye-opening experience to see the commitment to managing a school of children and teachers and the challenges that can come up.
