Congratulations to Afsar Zaman, a 5th grader from Winder Elementary School, for winning the Barrow County School System 2025 District Spelling Bee!

The runner-up is Jude Bastedo, a 7th grader from Arts & Innovation Magnet Program. Our third place winner is Sangi Stanton, a 8th grader from Westside Middle School. If Afsar is unable to compete in the Region 3 competition, Jude will take his place as the BCSS representative.

We wish Afsar good luck for the next round and congratulate all of our 2025 school level Spelling Bee champions and alternates!
