Imagine the excitement of the students at Austin Road Elementary when they learned their school had received a $2,500 grant to purchase PE equipment!
This amazing grant was provided by the American Heart Association’s school-based programs, Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge.
The school plans to use the grant to acquire new PE equipment, ensuring that students have access to engaging and enjoyable physical activities.
“We are incredibly grateful for the American Heart Association’s school grants,” said Jennifer Pope, PE teacher at Austin Road Elementary. “These funds will significantly enhance our wellness programs, providing our students with the equipment they need to be more active. This support is invaluable in our mission to foster a healthier school environment and promote overall wellness for all our students.”
ARES applied for the grant during the 2023-2024 school year and is one of seventy-seven schools awarded nationwide.
Congratulations to Austin Road Elementary!
