Celebrating Excellence: Highlights from the 97th Annual National FFA Convention

97th Annual FFA Convention

The National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Convention was a remarkable event for three of Barrow County School System’s FFA chapters. Students from Winder-Barrow High School (WBHS), Apalachee High School (AHS), and Russell Middle School (RMS) had the opportunity to attend the 97th Annual FFA Convention in Indianapolis, with a total of 26 students making the trip.

The convention was filled with memorable moments, including delicious food, participating in line dancing, and exploring the expansive expo. These activities provided excellent opportunities for bonding and enjoyment.

WBHS and AHS students enjoyed an insightful tour of Corteva’s global agricenter, where they explored various agriscience careers.

At the convention, FFA members explored the expo, discussing future colleges and careers in agriculture. They attended three sessions and celebrated the achievements of FFA members nationwide.

The AHS chapter was recognized as a 3-Star National Chapter for the seventh consecutive year. Russell Middle School is commended for its back-to-back 3-Star National Chapter Recognition and for being a finalist for Middle School Model of Excellence. Additionally, Winder-Barrow FFA is commended for receiving the 3-Star National Chapter award once again.
