Barrow County School System’s Class of 2024 has maintained a record-high graduation rate of 91.5%. That record was set by the Class of 2023, which was the highest since statewide measurements began in 2000.
This rate reflects the percentage of students who graduate within four years of starting 9th grade. This year, 917 students graduated from Apalachee High School, Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, and Winder-Barrow High School.
“The dedication of our staff, the hard work of our students, and supportive families all contributed to this success,” said BCSS Superintendent Dr. Dallas LeDuff. “The Class of 2024 started 9th grade in the fall of 2020, transitioning back to in-person learning after a period of digital learning in 8th grade. These graduates have shown how important it is to persevere and for our community to work together toward a common goal.”
The Georgia Department of Education reports the 2024 grad rate for the state of Georgia is 85.4%. For the past 10 years, BCSS has surpassed the state average.
