Sep. 12 Update from BCSS

September 12 update message to BCSS families

BCSS Family,

The way you’ve supported one another speaks to the heart of who we are—resilient, caring, and united.

I know many of you are looking for updates regarding returning to Apalachee High School. Please know we are in thoughtful discussion and getting input from parents, teachers, and counselors. We are working tirelessly to ensure we have the proper systems and resources in place for when we welcome students back to school. We will share a detailed plan with you as soon as we have it.

Our school counselors remain available for both students and families. If you or your child would like to talk with someone, please contact your school to schedule a session or learn more about the available resources.

Additionally, the Community Recovery Center (CRC) at 175 2nd Street in Winder is open through Friday, Sept. 13 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The center offers free resources, including financial help, legal services, and mental health support, all provided through partnerships with several community organizations.

I am grateful to be part of such a strong and caring community and appreciate your continued support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything—we’re here for you.

With gratitude,
Dr. Dallas LeDuff
Superintendent, Barrow County School System
