Advanced Placement (AP) exam results for the 2023-2024 school show about 10% more Barrow County School System students took the tests than during the previous school year.
Students need to score a 3 or higher to earn college credit. The district total pass rate remains higher than in the years before and during COVID-19. Our students participated in 20 different exam subjects, and we surpassed the average U.S. pass rate on 8 of those 20. [See details.]
Apalachee High School, Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, and Winder-Barrow High School had students score 68 fives – or perfect scores – on exams. Some standout stats include:
- BCSS had 6 students who scored 5s on at least 3 different exams
In all, 584 BCSS students took a total of 987 AP Exams during the 2023-24 school year.
“It’s promising to see more students experiencing success in these college-level courses in our high schools. Our goal is to keep encouraging them to set goals for growth opportunities,” said BCSS Superintendent Dr. Dallas LeDuff.
