Standout Senior: Howard Holloway

Standout Senior, Howard Holloway

Apalachee High School senior, Howard Holloway, was in his final season with his brothers. He was determined to make his last season on the Apalachee field a great one.

His senior year was a time of reflection and appreciation for the teammates that he’d refer to as ‘brothers’.

“Being part of a team has contributed to my academic career, because if you can't get it right or get the grades you need to have in the classroom, you let your teammates, your brothers down,” said Howard,

Howard earned his first football scholarship in January.

When Howard took off his football cleats to end the season, his basketball shoes returned one last time to the court.

Playing sports has played a major role in Howard’s upbringing. He plans to become a high school coach after going to college.

“I want to one day become a high school coach and give back like the great coaches I’ve had in my life,” said Howard.

Howard is grateful for his coaches and the impact they’ve made on his life.

“Coach Ty Rowland and Coach Jordan Rushings have helped me a lot into who I am today, either with being on the field, on the court, or just life in general,” said Howard.

Howard offers a piece of advice for upcoming freshmen.

“Don’t take anything for granted and give everything your all because you never know when your last one is going to be. It goes by quick,” said Howard.

As Howard wraps up his senior year this May, he is filled with appreciation for each moment that he had on the field and on the court with his teammates.

Congratulations, Howard! Barrow County School System is proud of your hard work inside the classroom and on the field.
