Congratulations to Alyssa Patterson, a 5th grader from Bethlehem Elementary School, for winning the Barrow County School System 2024 District Spelling Bee on Jan. 19! Alyssa will represent BCSS at the Region 3 competition on Feb. 24.
The runner-up is Leilan Rucker, a 4th grader from Austin Road Elementary. Our third place winner is Zoey Bowick, a 5th grader from Auburn Elementary. If Alyssa is unable to compete in the Region 3 competition, Leilan will take her place as the BCSS representative.
We wish Alyssa good luck for the next round and congratulate all of our 2024 school level Spelling Bee champions and alternates!
