Dr. Lauren Carter Named AES Principal

We’re happy to announce Dr. Lauren Carter as the new principal of Auburn Elementary School. The Board of Education approved Dr. Carter as the principal at their February 7 meeting.

Dr. Carter is the current principal of Bear Creek Middle School. “While I have immersed myself in the middle school setting for the last five years, my heart beats to return to the elementary school environment where I spent fourteen years. I have a passion for young learners, and I firmly believe the work done at that age is critical for a successful long-term academic career."

Prior to becoming principal, Dr. Carter served as a teacher, an Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal - all within Barrow County School System.

Dr. Carter says, "It is clear to see Auburn Elementary has a rich history, a close-knit community, a positive school culture, and a drive to ensure each child succeeds. It is an honor to have the opportunity to partner with staff, students, families, and community members to provide support for the incredible work being done there."
