Thanks to Barrow County School Nutrition, we were able to grow sweet potatoes in the school garden. Sweet potato slips were planted in May before we left for the summer, and we were able to harvest them in September! The students harvested four 5-gallon buckets of sweet potatoes. After curing for two weeks to let the potatoes get sweeter, our wonderful cafeteria ladies will be serving them for lunch. Be on the lookout for delicious Kennedy Grown sweet potatoes!
