Special Education Transportation

How do I get special bus transportation for my student?
It must be a recommended service on the student's Individual Education Program and/or a requirement because the student is not attending his/her neighborhood school, based on an IEP decision. The neighborhood school should complete a Transportation Information Form and fax the form to the County Transportation Department.

How long will it take Transportation to set up a pickup for a student?
The Transportation Department requests five school days. The bus driver will contact the parent before pickup begins.

If a parent requests a transfer to another Barrow County School, will transportation be provided?
No, parents will need to provide transportation.
