Graduation Specialist Alyson Cramer shares:
WBHS had their first Student Ambassador club meeting the week of September 19. Role model seniors were nominated by teachers, coaches, and faculty to serve as mentors to freshman to give advice, answer questions, help develop a healthy friendship, and possibly provide academic support. Freshmen were picked to participate by their middle school counselors, middle and high school teachers, and through analyzing data within Infinite Campus.
The inaugural meeting consisted of a mentor reveal followed by a team building activity. Students worked together to complete multiple challenges involving communication skills, teamwork, and building new positive relationships.
The goal is that these skills translate to productive students in the classroom and then their future workforce. Students are excited to meet once a month and continue to build on the relationships formed at our first meeting.
