Work-Based Learning teachers from Apalachee High School and Winder-Barrow High School enjoyed participating in the Georgia Academy for Economic Development program called "The Essentials" on March 2, 2022 in Atlanta. The program focused on the complexities of economic and community development on the local, regional, and state levels.
Participants were community and economic development professionals, elected leaders, public servants, business leaders, educators, and citizens from across Georgia.
AHS Work-Based Learning teacher Miranda Deaton and WBHS Work-Based Learning teacher Tywanda Jackson say the program helped enhanced their collaborative leadership skills while learning what essential elements must be invested in for a community to experience a vibrant economy and manageable growth.
