Congratulations to Tiara Mensinger for her promotion to Recruitment and Induction Coordinator with the Barrow County School System Planning and Personnel Department. Mensinger has been part of our Barrow BOLD team since 2012 as a classroom teacher and an Educational Technology Specialist. The Board of Education approved the transition at a May meeting.
In her new role, Tiara will coordinate recruitment and retention strategies and plans for all certified and classified positions. This will include fostering relationships with colleges and technical schools to promote ongoing talent development and placement opportunities. She will also focus on a Mentor Teacher program and work with Teaching as a Profession leaders to encourage recruitment of local students into the teaching profession through a Grow Our Own initiative.
Tiara is from Gwinnett County and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. In 2016, she obtained a Master’s in Education from Kennesaw State University. She completed a Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University in 2020 and is pursuing her doctorate from Piedmont University.
