Lance McNamara
Health Services Manager
As Health Services Manager for Barrow County School System, Lance McNamara provides leadership in the area of facilitating health related services; coordinating, supervising and supporting athletic trainers and school nurses; ensuring health services operations are in compliance with county, state, and federal requirements; and conveying health related information regarding school and district activities and procedures.
Mr. McNamara came to Barrow County Schools in the fall of 2006 and became a Teacher of Healthcare Science and the Athletic Trainer at Winder-Barrow High School. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and his Master’s degree from Ohio University. He has been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 33 years and an EMT-I for the past 14 years. His previous experience includes being an Athletic Trainer/Assistant Professor at Eastern Illinois, Head Athletic Trainer/Administrator at Southeast Missouri State University and Site Manager/Administrator and Athletic Trainer for the Morris Center.
Mr. McNamara has co-authored 2 medical articles on Prehospital care of the Spine-Injured Athlete and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Spine Injury Sports Group and a Clinical Instructor for the UGA Athletic Training Education program.
Mr. McNamara is married to Pamela McNamara and father to two daughters, Cathryn and Breanna.
