In a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, Akins Ford, a valued District Partner in Education, presented surprise checks to the three 2024-2025 District Teacher of the Year (TOTY) Finalists and the District TOTY. Brad and Chris Akins awarded a $5,000 check to Mrs. Brooke Bradberry, recognizing her outstanding contributions.
Additionally, Akins Ford executives Molly Morris, Glen Graves, and Joe Alewine surprised and recognized the three district finalists—Carrie Tilson of Bramlett Elementary, Sandra Cash of Statham Elementary, and Amy Wilson of Sims Academy—with $1,500 checks.
“Akins Ford was a founding business in the Partner in Education Program in 1991, and their leadership in supporting teachers, staff, students, and families has been tremendous through the years,” remarked Ellen Petree, BCSS Community Relations Specialist.
In recent years, Akins Ford added this surprise teacher recognition after Chris Akins served as a business representative on the TOTY selection committee. Both Brad and Chris expressed their deep gratitude for the dedication and hard work of the BCSS educators in our classrooms today, and they reflected on their educational experiences as BCSS graduates.
The support from Akins Ford underscores their commitment to our community and the local schools, teachers, and students.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Akins Ford for these generous recognitions.
