We are so fortunate to have wonderful members of our community who go above and beyond to support the success and welfare of our students and staff. To show appreciation, Superintendent Dr. Chris McMichael started the Community Member of the Month to recognize these individuals who are making a BOLD difference behind-the-scenes.
We're happy to recognize Rebecca Hiner as the Community Member of the Month for November 2023. Ms. Hiner is a System of Care Coordinator with Advantage Behavioral Health Systems.
Barrow County School System School Social Worker Ginette Williams nominated Ms. Hiner. She says, "Ms. Hiner works closely with many of our high-risk students and their families. School social workers reach out to her to help families connect to mental health, parenting, housing, and special needs supports. Ms. Hiner also acts as our liaison with Advantage Behavioral Health and attends monthly meetings to see how she or their agency can help."
"Ms. Hiner is helping transform families in Barrow County by providing individualized services to our highest-risk students."
Thank you, Ms. Hiner, for sharing your safety knowledge and experiences with the students and staff of BCSS!
