Early Literacy WIC Farmer's Market Events

From June to September 2022, the Barrow Literacy Partnership partnered with the Barrow County Health Department’s WIC Farmer’s Markets to promote early literacy. At the September event, the BLP spoke with 42 families about the importance of early literacy and gave 67 books to children for their home library. They also helped 15 new families sign up for free PINES library cards and provided parents - a child’s first and most important teacher - with helpful literacy tips for at home.
