District 2

Holt Etheridge was elected to represent District 2 and serve on the Board of Education beginning in 2025. He attended Holsenbeck Elementary, Winder-Barrow Middle School and graduated from Winder-Barrow High School. He graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Since then his work has been in the development of shop floor planning and execution software for the aerospace and defense industries and support of the software's customers.

Holt will be a third generation school board member following in the footsteps of his grandfather Dr. E.H. "Doc" Etheridge and his father E.H. "Skeeter" Etheridge, Jr. His great-grandmother Hattie Dunahoo Hill was one of the first teachers at Holsenbeck School, and there are many other family members that are current or past educators in the Barrow County School System.

"I want to help the education system as I believe I am best suited - I will question, I will investigate and I will look for the best path forward."

Holt is married to Laura and they have two children, Carter and Clarke. They attend Saint Matthew Catholic Church and Rockwell Universalist Church, where he is the caretaker and treasurer. He is a board member of the Barrow County Cooperative Benevolence Ministries assisting in the warehouse logistics and food distribution of the monthly community distribution and the monthly BCCS Feeding Families Program distribution.

"I have a desire for community service and to have a positive impact on our local community, children and families. I want to ensure the needs of all in the school system are being met - to be the voice for the students, parents and educators alike."
