Misty Watkins

My name is Misty Watkins.  This will be my 21st year of teaching.  Throughout my career in education, I have been an instructional coach, an early intervention (EIP) teacher, and have taught grades K – 5.  My undergraduate degree is from the University of Alabama in Elementary Education.  I received my master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.   I earned my Education Specialist degree from Capella University in Educational Leadership.  Additionally, I have gifted and instructional coaching endorsements.  My favorite color is red and I LOVE chocolate!  

I believe that the education of students is a three-way partnership between the student, the parent(s), and the teacher. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child in the upcoming weeks!  We will have many amazing experiences and fun opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.  Please encourage your child to share the new or interesting skills learned at school with you.  I also believe that positive and productive communication is paramount to your child’s success.  Therefore, I am looking forward to collaborating with you to ensure that your child has an exciting, successful school year!
