Karen Cook

Hi!  My name is Karen Cook and this is my 7th year at Yargo.  This will be my 30th year teaching and my love of teaching grows every year.  My husband, Edwin, and I have been happily married for 31 years.  We have two grown daughters, Morgan and Maddie.  Morgan and her husband, Matthew, have been married 4 1/2 years and live in Carey, NC.  Maddie and her husband Kyle have been married two years and live in Suwanee. 

Teaching is my passion.  I strive to provide a safe, challenging, and supportive space where students can be themselves, make mistakes, and work hard to learn and make corrections.  My hope this year it that my students become inquisitive, motivated, and develop a desire to learn and face challenges head on. 

In my spare time I enjoy serving and attending church at FBC Winder.  I enjoy being with my family, eating and playing a variety of games.  Another one of my passions is taking pictures.  I will make sure I take lots of photos of my students for the yearbook.  Edwin and I have also picked up the amazing game of pickleball and we enjoy playing with friends.
