Apalachee High School would like to recognize Anna Carter as our Chamber of Commerce Senior of the Month for February 2025. Anna is an exceptional student, with a cumulative GPA of 104.3. That lofty GPA includes eleven Honors/Gifted Courses and thirteen Advanced Placement Courses. She made only one ‘B’ her entire high school career, Honors Algebra I her freshman year. Anna will be an Honors Graduate in 49 days.
Not only has Anna shown exceptional talent in the classroom, she has represented our School and Community very well. Anna has lettered in Cross Country three years, leading her team to state all three years and serving as team captain as a junior. She has also participated in Track and Field and Swim while at Apalachee. Anna was named as a Region Scholar Athlete all four years. Anna has also been selected to the Governor’s Honors Program. She was nominated for Chemistry her Sophomore year and for Communicative Arts her Junior year, where she advanced to the state level. She is a member of the National Honors Society where she has invested numerous volunteer hours in our community. Along with those programs, Anna has played the flute in the Apalachee Wind Ensemble all four years of school.
Anna’s Language Arts teacher, Ms. Amy Cronic, states that “As a member of our AP Capstone cohort, Anna exemplifies the traits that we wish to see in our scholars. She is inquisitive, insightful, and diligent in all of her pursuits. More than that, she is a wonderful human being who approaches life with empathy and grace. I am blessed to interact with her each day!” Anna, so far, has the possibility of applying seven of her AP test results for college credit, with three more tests scheduled for this Spring.
Anna, ranking 2nd in her class of 440 students, is our Salutatorian. She has been accepted to and will attend the University of Georgia this fall, where she will study English and Business. Her goal is to become a publisher.
