Barrow County School System is proud to announce Apalachee High School Media Specialist Todd Cates has been selected as the 2020 Northeast Georgia Library Media Specialist of the Year! His application is now being considered with other regional winners for the Georgia Library Media Specialist of the Year award that will be announced June 8. The Georgia Library Media Association (GLMA) and Georgia Association of Instructional Technology (GAIT) present the award to honor K-12 library media specialists for the innovative and engaging ways they support students and staff.
Mr. Cates says he enjoys collaborating with teachers and students on research projects and showing them how to incorporate technology with learning. He says, "I am truly humbled by the recognition. I just love my job, so it’s easy to be a part of the AHS community." (He also loves being the voice of the Wildcats for softball and baseball!)
Apalachee Principal Jennifer Martin says, "This is beyond well deserved! I am so proud to work with Todd! I know I speak for all of AHS when I share that he is the most dependable colleague who will do anything to improve the daily lives of students and teachers through his work."
