Sept. 8 Message from Principal Rehberg

AHS Family,

Apalachee became my home as an English teacher in 2004, and still, I struggle to find the words.

I love you.

I’m always so proud of our school community, but through this horrific event, we are blessed with the most amazing students and staff. They are heroes, and we are a nation.

My heart is shattered that four of our heroes will never return to our beautiful halls. I am broken for the families of Christian, Mason, Cristina, and Ricky.

We are determining the right way to move ahead, and we are compassionately planning the details of our future. We will prevail. To heal, we need to get back together within our beloved CHEE building and care for one another. I will share details as soon as they are finalized about the process for retrieving your belongings tomorrow afternoon.

Please take care of yourself. Talk with someone. Don’t hesitate to get support. Know you are incredibly loved. I miss you. I hope I will see you very soon.

-Jessica Rehberg, AHS Principal
