Dr. Anne Locke Ridgway
LTC English Instructor
Dr. Ridgway teaches English Dual Enrollment courses.
She hails from the small bucolic town of Hartwell named after the amazing Nancy Hart who was a hero of the American Revolution. After high school, she went to the University of Georgia graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education. She also has a Master of Arts in English Education, a Specialist in Teaching and Learning, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction— all from Piedmont College.
Dr. Ridgway devoted her time to Winder-Barrow Middle and Bear Creek Middle for 18 years. She organized a student charitable club, Osito, that raised money for various causes as well as sponsored the United Way. For her classroom, Dr. Ridgway sought grants in order to bring technology and graphic novels to the ELA curriculum. Her coaching credentials entail tennis, basketball, and track.
Her teaching philosophy has always consisted of a differentiated curriculum where she as the facilitator guides students in acquiring skills and knowledge in order to become productive citizens, but also, caring thoughtful individuals.
She lives in the eclectic vibrant town of Athens with her two amazing Japanese Chin dogs named Moxin and Waker. She enjoys listening to true crime shows, playing chess/tennis, reading (especially manga), taking nature walks, listening to music, watching films, and traveling. She also wants to give a quick shout-out to Zaxby's for always supporting her with amazing grant money!
