Community & Mental Health Resources

On this page parents, guardians and students can find a variety of community and surrounding area resources.  The list is subject to change; however, the provided contacts, agencies and programs have been identified as potential resources for assistance through different issues and situations.

If it’s a true emergency situation contact 911 or the appropriate local authorities.  Here is a local statewide crisis support line that offers 24 hour service and support.

Important:

BASA welcomes any guardian or student to speak with our counselors regarding circumstances impacting your family. We can discuss school based recommendations, as well as give you resources we deem appropriate. If your student has recently been hospitalized or evaluated by a mental health professional, please contact your school counselor to develop a Safety Plan for re-entry into BASA.

Not sure where to start? United Way of Greater Atlanta’s 2-1-1 Contact Center connects families with community resources that enables them to thrive – resources like food pantries, job search and placement agencies, and financial emergency assistance agencies. This help is provided so that families can recover and become sustainable once again. Those who reach out to 2-1-1 are connected to trained, bilingual Contact Center agents who provide information on services and referrals to programs aligned with the individual’s specific needs. There are more than 5,000 agencies listed in the 2-1-1 database. 2-1-1 is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in over 140 different languages.
