Dr. Elizabeth Ellis
Veterinary Science Pathway & High School Science
Dr. Elizabeth Ellis has lived and worked in Georgia her entire life. She grew up south of Atlanta and then moved to Athens, GA, to pursue her college education. She was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society as a junior and then earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with honors, in 2001. In 2005 she completed the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, with honors, at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Ellis practiced small animal medicine and surgery in Athens and surrounding areas for 16 years before transitioning to teaching high school veterinary and animal sciences in 2021. She continues to practice medicine on a relief and part-time basis in addition to teaching. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and tending to a menagerie of pets, farm animals, and a small vegetable garden on their mini-farm in Statham, Georgia.
