FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND

At the April Board of Education meeting, it was announced that Kaitlyn Larson, a junior at Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (BASA) and Team Captain of the varsity FIRST Robotics Team, RoboClovers 18597, has achieved the highest individual honor in the world of FIRST Robotics. Kaitlyn is one of only three Dean's List FTC Finalists in the entire state of Georgia and will travel to Houston, Texas, from April 16-19 to participate in the FIRST World Championship.

In addition to representing Barrow County and Georgia at the World Championship, Kaitlyn has been selected to serve as a FIRST Championship Student Ambassador. This prestigious role recognizes her exemplary Gracious Professionalism, expert knowledge, experience, and skills. As a student ambassador, Kaitlyn will lead tours, educate event attendees, and engage with guests and VIPs.

"Kaitlyn's accomplishments this season are a testament to her dedication and passion for robotics. Her leadership and teamwork within the Barrow Robotics Program have made her a standout among the very best, and we are incredibly proud of all she has achieved this year," said Lee Bane, Director of Innovative Learning and Lead Robotics Mentor.

We encourage everyone to join us in supporting Kaitlyn as she proudly represents Barrow County and the state of Georgia on the world robotics stage in Houston. Let's cheer her on as she continues to inspire and lead with excellence!
