A Reading Celebration
Monday through Friday, Feb. 28 – March 4

­We will be celebrating reading with many fun activities in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and our Read across America celebration.

Here are the dress up activities for the week:

Monday 2/28: Oh, the Places You’ll Go- wear sweats/ athletic clothes to be comfortable for “travel”

Tuesday 3/1: Green Eggs and Ham- wear green or dress like a breakfast food

Wednesday 3/2: The Sleep Book- wear your favorite pajamas

Thursday 3/3: The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins - wear a hat today….the crazier the better.

Friday 3/4: The Cat in the Hat Comes Back- Character day, dress-up as your book character!

­Battle of the Books: Classes will listen to 5 new stories over the week and vote for their favorite book on Friday. The winner will be announced at the Friday book character parade.

­Mystery Reader Marathon: On Wednesday, various Mystery Readers will read their favorite children’s book live on Google Meet throughout the day. Students will get to guess who the reader is and their identity will be revealed at the end of the story.

­Reading Gifts: All students will receive a new book to keep for their own personal library and other surprises throughout the week.

­Book Character Parade: On Friday, students will parade around the front of the school in their book character costumes.
