Dr. Darby's Farewell to WBHS Students and Faculty and Staff

WBHS Students,
It has been an honor and privilege to serve the last twelve years as Winder-Barrow High School's principal. In addition, it has been such an honor to learn alongside you as the leader of W-BHS, and my time here will always be fondly remembered. I am a product of both this high school and this community, and the same powerful truths remain today as they did when I was in your shoes. Always remember how significant a high school diploma is and how integral it is to the opportunities that unfold for your future. Each day is a new chance for you to put forth your greatest "GG" effort. When you work hard and trust yourself, there is nothing you cannot accomplish. Remember the ultimate challenge is the 50-yard line because it is the foundation for your future. We will always bleed red and black and always spell our DOGGS with two "G"s. Together we share something special: A high school diploma from Winder-Barrow High School. I am proud to be your alumni and wish you all the very best.

W-BHS Faculty and Staff,
It has been an honor and privilege to serve the last twelve years as Winder-Barrow High School principal. In addition, it has been such an honor to collaborate alongside you as both a colleague and confidant. Winder-Barrow High School and this community are my home. Teachers and coaches shaped who I have become, and they each provided me with opportunity by giving me an education. The power a teacher has to change one life is significant and intentional. Remember how important your choice to become an educator is. Whether you know it today or twenty years from now, you are making a "DIFFERENCE" in the lives of our students. Your effort in how you plan for and interact with them is critical to who they become. Each day is a new chance for you to put forth your greatest "GG" effort in how you facilitate learning in your classroom. Our students' outcomes are greatly shaped by what you decide to do in the few hours each day you interact. Remember the ultimate challenge for our students is the 50-yard line because it is the foundation for their future. As a faculty and staff, we will always bleed red and black and always spell our DOGGS with two "G"s. Together we share something special: a high school experience alongside students who achieve a diploma from this excellent academic institution.

Warm regards and Go Doggs!!
