Congratulations to Sue McHann - the new Principal of Statham Elementary School beginning in July 2024. The Board of Education approved Mrs. McHann as the new principal of the SES Wildcats during their April 30 Work Session.
"I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to the incredibly kind community of Barrow County where I will proudly serve as the new principal of Statham Elementary School. It is with great enthusiasm and dedication that I step into this role, eager to collaborate with scholars, families, educators, and community members as we continue to foster a nurturing environment where every scholar thrives academically, socially and emotionally."
Mrs. McHann has more than 22 years of experience in education, 11 as an elementary school principal in California. She is currently working on her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree through Liberty University. She has been married to her husband, Mike, for 35 years and has four daughters, three "son-in-loves," and four grandchildren.
"I am deeply committed to creating a school team that empowers scholars to become critical thinkers, compassionate citizens, and lifelong learners no matter the background or ability. I firmly believe education extends beyond the walls of the classroom and strong partnerships between the school and the community are essential for student success. I look forward to continuing the productive work that has already been established at Statham Elementary by all school and community partners."
