Christopher McCarver

Christopher McCarver is currently in his 11th year of teaching, his 7th year at RMS. Prior to his appointment in Winder, Mr. McCarver taught at Monroe Area High School in Walton County for 4 years as the Band Director.

Mr. McCarver’s program at Russell Middle School includes a sixth grade band, concert band, symphonic band, jazz ensemble, pep band and percussion ensemble.

Mr. McCarver earned his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. His professional memberships include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Mr. McCarver resides in Watkinsville with his wife of 10 years, Katrina, who teaches music at Oconee Primary School, and his 5 year old daughter Amelia and 3 year old daughter Abby Grace.
