Shannon Rakestraw

Hello! I am Shannon Rakestraw. I currently live in Jefferson with my three children. My daughter, Rhylan, is six years old, and I have twins, Blakely and Truett, who will be 3 in September. They keep me busy!

I attended both Gainesville College and North Georgia College & State University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education with an endorsement in Reading. I later attended Troy University and received my Masters Degree in Post-Secondary Education. This is my first year at Holsenbeck, but I have taught 3rd grade for 11 years and EIP for 3 years.

Third grade is such a fun year with so many wonderful learning activities to celebrate. My most important goal is to create a family of learners in my classroom. I am committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is a valued, trusted, and integral part of our family of learners.
