Every day, members of our community are instrumental to the success and welfare of our students and staff. To show appreciation, Superintendent Dr. Chris McMichael started the Community Member of the Month to recognize these individuals who are making a BOLD difference behind-the-scenes.
We're happy to recognize Victoria Patrick as the February Community Member of the Month. Victoria is an integral part of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Holsenbeck Elementary School. In fact, she's been a part of the PTO for the past six years, while her granddaughter, Erilynn, has been a student. For the past 2 school years she’s gone above and beyond as a HES substitute teacher. Victoria and her husband, Eric, grew up in Barrow County and BCSS, and are Winder-Barrow High School graduates.
HES Counselor Cindy Bryan nominated Victoria for the tireless work she dedicates to the students and teachers. "Victoria works and plans for events to make Holsenbeck a fun and educational place. She helps raise money for the students and the teachers. She volunteers her time and substitutes." HES appreciates the many cherished memories for students, parents and teachers she’s lead during the past six years.
Victoria is also active in the Kiwanis Club and other civic, church and dance organizations in our community. She’s been the silent backbone of many community fundraisers for Relay for Life through the years. If Victoria is involved, it will be great!
Thank you, Victoria, for the incredible difference you are making for the students and families of Barrow County!
