Hello Austin Road Families:

I am pleased to welcome you to Austin Road Elementary School!

As principal, I aim to create an environment at our school where parents, students, teachers, community members, and visitors experience the warmth, support, and dedication in all we do. Austin Road Elementary will be a place where we partner to ensure our students’ success. I want it to be a place where students are excited to be every day!

At Austin Road Elementary, I envision a place where

• teachers collaborate and partner with parents to create and foster the ideal learning environment for students,
• students thrive and grow emotionally, socially, and academically, and
• a teacher’s enthusiasm for teaching is evident in their students’ love of learning.

As we get to know each other, I want to share a little about myself. I have lived and worked in Barrow County for over 20 years. During this time, I have had the pleasure of forming lasting relationships with countless students and their families, faculties, and community members. 

• My teaching career began in 2002 at Westside Middle – Go Huskies!
• In 2005, I was fortunate to be part of the inaugural faculty at Haymon-Morris Middle School – Go Wildcats!
• In 2014, I started at Auburn Elementary School as the assistant principal. In 2017, I was honored to be named principal – Go Tigers!

I love working with and leading an elementary school. Elementary students see the good in everything. They are enthusiastic and positive by nature. They are eager to learn and excited to share their stories.

Each May, you would find me at graduation supporting my former students. It makes my heart happy to see my students walk across the platform receiving their diplomas. I cannot wait to see your child launch into life when it is their turn to graduate. Student success - that’s what it’s all about!
