We are excited to announce the name for our new elementary school!
Austin Road Elementary School will open in the fall of 2023.
Principal Julia Hodges presented the process and recommended name options for the new school to the Board of Education. The naming steps included:
- The community was invited to offer name suggestions through an online form.
- After reviewing the submissions, a School Governance Team (SGT) narrowed the list down to three options and recommended their top name choice.
- Historical research was conducted on the name options.
- Ms. Hodges recommended "Austin Road Elementary School" as the new school’s name to the Board of Education.
- BOE members discussed the recommendation and voted to approve the name.
Austin Road Elementary School will be the home of the ROCKETS! Look for a logo soon!
