Bear Creek Middle School offers many Clubs and Organizations for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade.
4-H
Description: 4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing.
Activities: Service based projects for home, community and school.

Art Club
Description: Art Club provides students an opportunity to gain additional instruction in art. Students meet weekly to create a variety of art projects designed for students by students. The club is informal and flexible so that students are able to further their own artistic skills at their own pace. Art club is open to all grade levels and provides an outlet for creative expression beyond the classroom.
Activities: Students create 3-4 art projects that would not be introduced in a class setting (TBA).

Band & Jazz Band
Description: Jazz Band is a before-school club targeted at students who want to learn music not taught in daily band class. Jazz Band is for students wanting to learn to play and perform music styles like the Blues, Big Band Sing, Jazz, modern Rock and more! This club is open current 7th and 8th grade band students, as well as 6th , 7th , and 8th grade students who know how to play electric or acoustic guitar, electric bass, and piano or keyboard.
Activities: Students will have a variety of opportunities to perform for school and community.

BETA
Description: The purpose of Beta Club is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership and service among elementary and secondary school students.

Chorus
Description: Vocal Chamber Ensemble is a before-school club targeted at students who want to learn music in a fast paced-environment. Students must audition to be a part of this before-school club. Please see Ms. Morales-Nunez for more information.
Activities: We will prepare for performances at concerts, caroling around the holidays, singing in nursing homes, and other community and school events.

Computer Game Design Club
Description: The Computer Game Design Club explores computer programming skills and computer game development and design!
Activities: Club members will have the opportunity to compete in the Barrow County Technology Competition!

Engineering Club
Description: Engineering Club provides students an opportunity to gain additional instruction in engineering. Students meet weekly to create a variety of projects designed for students by students.
Activities: Want to build a pumpkin-slinging catapult or build and race CO2 cars? Want to learn robotics or electronics? If you're interested in learning math and science while having a good time and want to explore different aspects of engineering in a fun, stress-free environment, then come join the engineering club!

FCA
Description: FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) This club is a time of "inspiration and perspiration" for athletes and coaches who want to reach their potential through comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training.
Activities: The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a club where student athletes can come together for fellowship, devotionals, games, snacks, and more! Grow with your team—on and off the field. We look forward to having you!

Description: Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operates within the school system.

Future Farmers of America
Description: FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl
Description: The purpose of the bowl is to encourage the love of reading as well as teach & promote team building skills.
Activities: Students will read from a list of ten selected books for the reading bowl. The team members will read both independently and any other agreed upon time. The students will create question/answer lists for the books they read and will share them with the team. The question/answer database will be used to practice for the reading bowl competition. We will attend the bowl in January.

Student Council
Description: To learn key leadership skills that increase communication between students and staff.
Activities: Students learn develop a platform, how to campaign, and voting in student lead government.

Yearbook Club
Description: Our purpose is to provide the school with a yearbook that reflects the events and lives of our students, staff and the events of our school during that given year. Students will learn to be photographers, graphic designers, and marketing planners throughout the school year.
Activities: Activities include: compiling pictures of the people and events of our year, designing yearbook pages, writing articles, editing, and creating marketing materials and events.
