School Nutrition
Barrow County School Nutrition Program's mission is to promote a successful academic experience and encourage a lifetime of healthy eating. The staff at each school provides every student with a base of nutrition education and meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and served by caring professionals in a friendly environment.

Free & Reduced Lunch Information
The Meal Benefit application for the 2024-25 school year is now open. Please read below.
Families must complete a new application for free and reduced meals at the beginning of each school year. Please use the complete first and last name(s) of your student. It should match the name on the enrollment record and include hyphenated or multiple last names.
Please note the following exception:
Students currently enrolled in BCSS receiving Food Stamps or TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) are automatically enrolled and do not need to complete a School Benefit Application. However, if you are a new BCSS family, you must complete a new application. It will not carry over to a different county.

We encourage all families to set up their child’s My School Bucks account. This app allows you to monitor your child’s meal purchases and account balance. You can also upload funds directly to your child’s account and set up auto-pay (for a fee). Students can also pay at the cafeteria register.
MySchoolBucks program has a convenience fee per payment.

The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
